Mental Health

In case of emergency, call 9-1-1 or visit the nearest emergency room.

Mental health, emotional, or behavioral issues can interfere with your ability to reach your potential in your work and studies. The UT Booth Wellness Center offers brief mental health services for students, staff and faculty to help deal with mental health, emotional, or behavioral issues.

Mental Health services for students are paid for by Student Fees and are provided to UT students at no additional cost to the student. Services for Faculty and Staff are offered at a reduced cost ($35.00/appointment).

Staff and faculty may also access free mental health services through UT’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with Blomquist Hale. Please refer to the UT Human Resources website or visit https://blomquisthale.com/index.html for further information.

Individual Counseling

The UT Booth Wellness Center (BWC) offers up to 8 individual counseling sessions per academic year. Students may schedule a new patient intake appointment with a counselor who will work with them to identify needs and concerns and refer to either Booth Wellness Center services or to an outside provider depending on student needs.

Please contact us at 435-652-7755 for more information or to schedule a consultation or intake appointment.

Group Counseling

The UT Booth Wellness Center (BWC) offers group counseling services for a variety of presenting concerns. Groups allow students to benefit from exploring common concerns with peers. It can be relieving to find that you are not alone, and that others are facing the same challenges. Group counseling is a valuable opportunity that offers multiple perspectives, peer support, and accountability, in helping you achieve your goals.

Please contact us at 435-652-7755 for more information or to schedule a screening appointment.

The Booth Wellness Center is staffed with experienced, licensed mental health professionals including psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors. All therapy sessions are confidential* and although the Booth Wellness Center may be contacted by other concerned individuals (parents, faculty, etc.), your participation in therapy will not be discussed in any way with these entities without your written permission.

Feel free to call us if you have any other questions

*There are some limits to confidentiality which your counselor will review during the first appointment.
